▋Shui-Li Snake Kiln
The unique snake kiln, built in 1926, originated from Mainland China and was run by the folks. Therefore, a snake kiln was so called a folk kiln at that time. By contrast, an official kiln was called a dragon kiln. A snake kiln is built along a slope with bricks. The length of a snake kiln is very long. A folk kiln looked far in the distance is like a snake. That’s why a folk kiln is called a snake kiln. The Snake Kiln, full of traditional culture, is the most ancient wood fired kiln in Taiwan. Productions of a modern kiln cannot be competitive with the works made from clay and woods.
